Another pie fatty ?!

Well this is it, I've talked the talk often enough but never really walked the walk (let alone run it!).

Enough is enough, they say the older you get, the harder it is to lose weight, so let's do it. At the tender age of 34 (yes I know, life hasn't been kind has it, what do you mean you can't see my boyish good looks?), and two young kids means it's that time.

OK enough of the crap, what really kicked my up the arse and made me do it? Well let me tell you a story, are you sitting comfortably ? Then i'll begin....

I've always eaten the wrong foods and had a big appetite, but, a month or so ago I could feel very hungry, eat a big meal and still feel just as hungry. This went on for a few weeks and it seemed odd. Looking on the net (BIG mistake), it mentioned diabetes. So, off I go to see my GP, tell him I think I may be diabetic, he asks why and so I tell him. He tries to physically hide his smirk, tells me that he thinks it very unlikely that I am, but he would do the test nonetheless. So, after giving him a sample of my finest produce, he drops in the paper, then turns and looks at me. "Mr Boss, you're not diabetic, you're just obese". Hmm, bugger, let's just say, I left rather quickly.

So here we are, day 6 (sorry, I've started this blog a little late haven't I?). I've stuck to my healthier eating plan (I can't use the word diet), given up my favourites such as milk, cheese and my lunchtime pigouts when returning from meetings, at burger joints and chip shops (you see, I told you my eating habits were awful). Stepping on the scales today, 6 days in, i've lost 6lbs.

I'm now also going to start hauling my sorry ass around the local forest (no not rummaging for food) and have this morning done 100 sit ups. The six pack is there, albeit hidden at the bottom of the fat cellar and covered in lard blankets. Those sit ups feel like my ribs are trying to push their way out (mmm, did someone mention spare ribs?)

Well that's me , day 6, steady start, still a fat porky bastard, but at least it's a start!
